Wednesday 22 February 2012: Wild garlic

This is some of the wild garlic growing in our local wood. I love the fresh green colour and the apparent strength of the new shoots growing through last autumns leaves.

What I mean to say is - how much do leaves weigh and why do the garlic shoots not push the leaves to one side rather than grow through them?
