Wednesday 22 February 2012: A load of old bollards!

Or at least the aquatic equivalent of bollards. The boat out side the Baltic is removing them, they only cost £200,000 each! and that's what it's costing to remove them (so I'm told) money well spent then, they can't have been in that long (since 2000) given that it's the (wonderful) Millennium Bridge. There may well be a strong reason for removing them.. even if only to deprive the local gulls from using them as poo sticks (not that kind of Pooh stick though)

Erm anyway, there you go .. the photo though was mainly to try and capture the faster than usual running River Tyne... love the way the shadows are still and sharp but the river looks like it's in hyperspace!
