Saturday 25 February 2012: The winner of the best bed head in the world...

729/365: ... is... Felix Horrigan!!

*presents Felix with a tousle-headed boy award*

You have to admit, it's kinda impressive, huh? We'll ignore the fact that he's sitting on the dining room table, eating his breakfast while we admire the splendour that is the hair that seems determined to escape from his head.

Today has been a bit like his hair. Tangled, messy and very busy. Normal rush to the swimming pool for Maddy's swimming lesson, then grocery shopping, then Felix's lesson. Maddy's lesson was kinda dull though - they had the 'big kids' in to demo how to do various strokes, so we got to watch the kids watching the other kids - rather than the normal, chaotic splash-fest of the lesson.

Felix's lesson, on the other hand had Bobbing Bobby there again - the kid who never seems to get anywhere. Today, Bobbing Bobby was 'doing' front crawl. Which involved him sticking his head so far into the water, he looked like he was going to kiss his tummy button... his bottom forming a jittery island out of the water... and his legs frothing whilst he attempted to knee himself in the head. All the while getting nowhere. It was a different swimming teacher today - and at first he attempted to try to get Bobbing Bobby to swim... but as with all swimming teachers, soon realised the extreme hopelessness of getting Bobbing Bobby moving. It's almost sad to see the hope die in a young teacher's eyes. But such is the gift of Bobbing Bobby.

The rest of the day involved house work. Lots of it. Laundry, washing dishes, hoovering, tidying, scrubbing, baking, mopping. Am sure that Saturdays used to be fun once upon a time!

PS The kids planted some flowers for me in the garden...
PPS ... Maddy used a fork to dig holes for the plants...
PPPS ... Felix used a ride-on digger. Boy vs. garden! Boy won. Eeek!
