Sunday 17 August 2008: Not Michael Palin...

Spotlit
Fringe hit
A show among a thousand long list

Bagging the punters
Flyers your hunters
Some shows better seen pissed

-----------------

Though this is one that stands up in its own right, and is very small and non-hyped.

Russell McGilton at the end of his Fringe Show, Bombay to Beijing by Bicycle. I had got in touch with him originally for the citycycling magazine and doing something on his Festival Fringe show about the journey. We've met up a few times now and had a few drinks, and he's coming to dinner on Tuesday. Today I was back at his show for some pictures.

At the end he asked how many in the audience had been expecting a Palin-esque travelogue. Which this most definitely is not.

Busy weekend of shows (Tim Minchin is an unmitigated genius, Jimmy Carr disappointing), exhibitions, working in the garden and a first ride on the new bike to give it a shakedown and see how it feels and what I needed to tweak in the setup (bad weather and illness had prevented it so far).

Day off tomorrow to go and watch Scotland play England in a one day international.
