Monday 27 February 2012: Young & Wooly

We walked a long loop through the Gwaun Valley today, under intermittent drizzle. I saw a few nooks and crannies for the first time, even though I'm visiting for the sixth time. Ceridwen has been meaning to get us in front of some of the new lambs and today, sure enough, I was closer to these two than I have ever been to lambs before in my life --ten feet or less.

The trick is that one has to stay very still and wait several minutes. Then the lambs will get curious and come close for a look-see. I like their cute little bleating voices.

Now it's past midnight and I hear a tawny owl hooting outside in a nearby tree. You might say that all of the stars are in the right places.
