Wednesday 29 February 2012: Lake Ruataniwha
After a grey, showery morning, the sun came out in time to catch the reflections here near Twizel which according to a local we were chatting to should be pronounced to rhyme with drizzle as it originally was, rather than reprisal, which is the oficial Govt. way. The town was built to house workers on a dam building project and the plan was for it to be demolished once the dam was complete but the people liked it so much they won a battle for it to become permanent - a fine example of people power, I reckon.
