Friday 2 March 2012: Akira Kiteshi's Industrial Avenue (62/366)
Akira Kiteshi's debut album Industrial Avenue was eagerly awaited in this household. Not least because the aforementioned Akira Kiteshi is The Edinburgh Chap's brother-in-law.
It's a collision of hard electro, dance & dubstep, a rewarding challenge for the player and the listener alike.
And that's the reason you see it in its arcane form in today's blip. Firstly, I like buying CDs. Have done since I was 14, a great long while ago. Secondly, limited bit-rate MP3 conversions frankly can't carry off an album of this sonic completeness and complexity. And when you're listening on thousand-pound-plus hifi, or through headphones like these, then yes, you can tell, and yes, it matters.
Quality stuff then.
