Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

The bench

I really wanted an action shot tonight but they were all terrible, so here is Niklas (with the basketball) on the bench with his 9 year old teammates, some of whom are actually looking at the game going on. The 12 year old coach in the striped shirt is looking at his fingers. But his Dad is there.
Something about little boys is irresistible to me.

Last nights's "Sound Conversation" at the Aquarium was really interesting - one of 3 talks about the state of our oceans, this one featured the guy who developed Argo floats and Sea gliders that gather information from that cold, dark, pressurized world that covers 70% of the globe. They track currants 2000 meters down, and temps and animals and creatures. Also smaller ROVs, one of which was demonstrated in the huge 30 meter tank in the Aquarium lobby hall. It seemed to me that the fantastic science and technology available is ahead of what one can actually DO with this information, which is very geographically spotty. One of those chicken and egg things. I was amazed at the numbers of cables and under the sea devices many many countries in the world have put on the bottom of the ocean. Next time we hear about what we can learn from the sea otter population.

Edit -decided to add a few of those "action" shots this morning......
