Goosander

Didn't go on walk today. Didn't fancy the iffy river crossing and arms aching after yesterday's exertions.

Driving over to Edinburgh I stopped at Hogganfield and took this photo of the male Goosander. Liked it as it shows the moisture on the bird's head. There were also 3 large pure white geese with very bright orange beaks and legs, bigger than the Greylags. Looked in my book but concluded that they must be domestic escapees.

Called in at Straiton Pond off the bypass. Nice reflections but no unusual birds this time.
