Saturday 3 March 2012: Yellow Billed Cardinal on Hawaii
Another beautiful day in paradise. Had a wonderful crepe breakfast, and a drive to Captain Cook's monument on beautiful Kealakekua Bay. The spot is a great place to snorkel or kayak, very calm and easy access! After returning we laid out at the pool and I was able to catch this yellow billed cardinal in a nearby tree! It is native to South America and was first seen here in 1973. It is a tree feeder and is quite an acrobat...although I was lucky to catch this one in flight!
