'Take a photo of it before I knock it down', said Felix. Having spent the past ten minutes building a temple to his cars, wooden bricks and train track it turned out that all he wanted to do was to knock it down. He did not, however, want me to take a picture of him - although he is fairly easily convinced that my camera can filter him out while I'm taking a shot of something he thinks is fabulous a la brick tower!
Tell you what, I'm kinda pooped. Yesterday was dead busy. And I forgot to say, I'd also managed to wreck my neck and back some how while I slept. That and the remnants of a painful stomach I've had since last week have reduced me to an ibuprofen-fuelled mess. I'm also doing a good impression of a robot as I can't turn my neck and have to do that awkward full shoulder turn if I want to see what's to the right or left of me. At least the amount of rain today meant that the chance of doing any gardening was non-existent so I didn't feel like I was missing out!
We still managed to squeeze in doing the hellish weekly grocery shopping despite my whingy groaning - and Nick's wheezing. We're the epitome of good health at the moment!!
This afternoon, we had friends over so I baked scones (yummy!) and prepped the veg for the roast dinner we had this evening. Prepping the veg involved the last of the Brussel sprouts from our garden as well as digging up a few more Jerusalem Artichokes (and having the realisation that the ones I've left in are starting to grow again - which means I'm going to be inundated with the things this near year - eeep!). Then sneaked in a quick five minutes hiding in the bedroom to get myself a bit of peace and quiet from the hecticness of the day. Obviously, Felix tracked me down within moments... but those few moments were rather lovely.
PS ... as is the hot chocolate I'm currently slurping
PPS And the blissful silence from upstairs as the kids are sound asleep is rather nice too
