Sunrise at Algies Bay

This morning is the last morning at the Beach House for nearly two weeks. S' poetry tutor/mentor/ friend and her family are having this coming weekend there as a thank you for all the time and effort she has put into assisting S with her poetry. Last week she received the latest edition of Poetry NZ (Nø 44) which has published two of her poems.

I know that this is another sunrise picture. I chose this because I won't be seeing the morning sun over Kawau Bay until weekend after next, and also because I like it with all the silhouetted plants through which I took this picture over the roof of a house at the northern end of the Bay.

In the lower left corner can be seen the waters of Kawau Bay and beyond is the dark mass of Kawau Island. On the right in the distance is the purple colour of the distant Coromandel Peninsula.

Five minutes after I took this picture the sun was fully risen and blinding.

Thank you to everyone who looked at and commented on my blip from yesterday. So many nice and affirmative remarks.
