Sunday 4 March 2012: Gum trees

The hunter has a stand of gum trees. They're native to Australia but many species grow well in NZ.

Gum trees have beautiful and amazing bark. It naturally peels into long strips and reveals exquisite colours and shapes beneath. These reminded me of my Nana. She was Australian (but don't hold that against me ;-)

We've fed and watered dogs and puppies. The hunter is now beavering away in the kitchen cooking dinner while I'm draped across the couch.

Out in the country my head is clearing for the intensive thinking and processing I've done on my project the rest of the weekend. The companay is ok too ;-)
