Don't mess with me

We went to our local animal shelter today, but didn't expect to encounter chickens (it turns out that they're residents, & not actually for rescue).
This is one mean chicken, she was easily twice the size of the rest of the flock: if only she'd kept still whilst I fumbled to adjust the exposure I could have snapped her amongst them so you could see her size, but as it is you'll just have to trust me when I say that she was vast. There was also a rather magnificent cockerel strutting his stuff, but even he paled into insignificance beside this hefty hen!
