This blip is taken at the Maasvlakte a large industrial area located at the entrance from the North Sea to the river Maas . The Maasvlakte is part of the harbour of Rotterdam. The city of Rotterdam is 40 kilometers further up the river.
The area Maasvlakte and adjacent area Europoort are very heavily industrialised with petrochemical refineries and storage tanks, bulk iron ore and coal handling as well as container and new motor vehicle terminals.
In the photo you can see a power-station from E-on, one of the largest energy providers in Europe.
