Monday 5 March 2012: 27/30 - From a distance
Day 27 of my 30 day challenge.
We went for a walk to feed the ducks although by the time we got there it very much looked like it was about to rain. Luckily the wind was blowing the other way and we got some lovely sunshine instead. I love it when the days are like this - mad, blustery wind that chills your fingers; interspersed with lovely warm shots of sun.
While Claudia was on the swings a massive Chinook flew overhead and landed very close (it must have been the sports pitch opposite the waterfall that Claudia loves so much). The noise was incredible and I have never seen one so close. When it took off again it flew straight up (I have only ever seen them take off more like planes), then did some pretty impressive manoeuvres tilting and swooping very low and very fast. Clauds was enthralled and we watched it pass behind trees and come back into view a few times before it finally disappeared but it was a rather exciting break to an otherwise routine playground visit.
Oh, and the geese tried to kill us again. I hate those things.
