When you are in Luxor (For a considerable amount of time) you soon learn that there is a man for everything!
We put these people into our mobile phones as Water man, Electricity man, Internet man, Wood man, Glass man, even Beer man!! Stone man doesn't go into many mobile phone contact lists, as he is possibly one of the most famous men in Luxor.
He sits in a very small shop opposite Luxor Temple, surrounded by the most colorful, therapeutic stones and most saleable items that ladies cannot resist!
Ear-rings, necklaces and bangles made from the most natural stones, the planet has to offer. Agate, Tigers Eye, Lapis Lazuli, Rose Quartz, Citrine, Amber and many more.This man sits and turns his wheel all day, every day to 'Polish' the raw materials into sparkling stones wrapped in silver, that tourists want to buy.
I always bring my friends and family here to see what 'Stone Man' has to entice them. Believe me, there are so many gorgeous things to buy, you will be here at least an hour perusing!
The purchase it'self is very unique, as in he puts a tissue lined dish out, in which you put your selected items in. When you have finished 'Shopping' He will tot it all up and write the price on the tissue......Then the haggling begins!
I bought a lovely pair of rose quartz, heart drop ear-rings hung in silver, for approximately 1.40GBp....Stone Man really is a gem!
