Tuesday 6 March 2012: Schinderhannesturm
Day 1 in Simmern/Hunsrück -
In-house training "Basics of speech communication" (or however you would translate that...)
The training center was next to the Schinderhannestower.
The tower was formerly the "Powder Tower" or magazine and in 1799 used as a prison for "Schinderhannes" Johannes Bückler, a German outlaw who orchestrated one of the most famous crime sprees in German history.
He eventually escaped from this tower...
On November 21, 1803, he was guillotined before the gates of Mainz. He remains Germany's most famous outlaw.
