Saturday 10 March 2012: Dawn revellers
I got out early this morning for some sunrise shots but it was not much of a sunrise. This is down at Nobbys beach and the man went in for a swim soon after I took this shot and was joined by some other people. There were quite a few surfers out this morning. Newcastle is hosting Surfest and there are some fantastic world class surfers here. I have never seen so many people coming down to the beach at dawn. You can tell they are out of towners because they were all doing stretches and other warm up stuff. The locals pause only to check the waves and then dive in. I might see if I can get a few of the top surfers but the serious competition doesn't heat up until the end of the week.
