The Lame and the Halt

Well, patient #1 (that would be Mister S) is doing fine after hand surgery. It's patient #2 (that would be S herself) that's today's problem. I've somehow injured my knee, resulting in a swollen joint and a basic inability to bend my right leg to walk properly. In the course of a couple hours I have acquired a hinged knee brace, drugs, ice, xrays and a set of simple instructions (ice, rest, elevate). The cosmically ironic thing is that now neither S1 nor S2 can drive. Some support system I turned out to be! The hope is for parallel speedy and miraculous recoveries.

And, no, I don't know what I did. I wish I had a good story, but I don't play football, haven't been skiing for a year, and didn't even jump out the window. It just started to hurt. At least Mr S went down hiking in Yosemite--that always gets some appreciation.
