Saturday 10 March 2012: Heath Brothers Return to Wilmington

Part of the old guard in the jazz world made a return to their roots tonight. The Heath Brothers consisted of Percy (bass with Modern Jazz Quartet), Albert "Tootie", drums, and Jimmy, the saxophonist. Percy died a few years ago, but Jimmy, who attended the local black high school (in the day) and brother Albert were honored with keys to the city and other awards before presenting a concert at Thalian Hall.

This picture was the best I could do under the circumstances. Here is a little piece about these great jazz players.
