Galgate Marina

Galgate is a village just south of Lancaster, an easy stopping off place from the M6, maybe half a mile tops. As well as the busy marina it has a super canal side café and craft shop, where we met up with family for a quick lunch on the long trip south today. 5 and a quarter hours this far, 6 hours to home. Long day in the car.

With the opening of the Millennium Ribble Link, Galgate and the Lancaster Canal have access to the rest of England's inland waterway network. Really nice to see this progress with its knock-on effect for local businesses along the canal.

Should be back to commenting in the next day or so.
