Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

Seeking beauty

A nasty cold rainy windy day. Decided to exercise on the INDOOR bike and watch Bill Cunningham/New York on streaming netflix. If anyone who doesn't know him, he is a street photographer who rides his bike all over New York photographing clothes. At 82, he still works for the New York times and you can see a short video of his photos weekly - this week he was in Paris, his other love. Recently he was forced to move out of his studio apartment in Carnegie Hall. I love seeing artists who are passionate about their work - he left me with this ..."if you seek beauty, you will find it."

So... my plan was to "seek beauty" in something ordinary in the house. However I ended up delivering some things to our friend (Mikeday's husband) who after spending the weekend at home is now back in the hospital with pneumonia. Very distressing indeed !! I was only there a few minutes, but did check out the view from his 7th floor window overlooking Elliott Bay.-you can see the little pointy Smith Tower on the left, once the tallest building west of the Mississippi, and the very tall Columbia Tower that had the same distinction when it was built 71 years later in 1985(altho now it's #4). And maybe appreciate the very grey day.

And... for the record, the shower people brought the custom shower doors today to install in our bathroom --I went to check and found that my forehead hit the top of the door - (we are very tall but had understood that was taken care of!). So off it came. Maybe next week the right size will happen! did I expect all to go smoothly?
