where paths meet

Tuesday 13 March 2012: Peak District village scene, in Chelmorton

Completed a good long walk (15 miles). The weather started dull and gradually cleared to hazy sunshine, not great for landscape photography. There were quite a lot of OK pictures to choose from, but this is the one that caught my eye for the blip, fairly typical traditional cottages in a harmonious setting.

The highlights were Monsal Dale and Deep Dale with a woodland path back to Ashford in the Water skirting a very steep slope above the valley. The views overlooking the village of Taddington were very pleasant. The wide open spaces of Taddington Moor and around Flagg are a real contrast to the steep valley of the Wye and its tributaries nearby.
