Wednesday 14 March 2012: Hidden underneath

Another early awakening today (I wish my bodyclock would realise it's not at work this week), although not early enough for me to catch sunrise. One thing I have learnt through blipping is if you go out intent on capturing a particular 'thing' you're almost certainly going to come back with something entirely different.

I was just in the process of changing my general purpose sunrisey lens to my 50mm, thinking 'just in case' I happen to meet someone enroute to Pollokshields West Railway Station and looked up to see this chap and his incredible beard walking towards me. POUNCE.

A very gentle soul hidden in there I think. He was very softly spoken and a man of very few words. I usually gab a lot to relax people but he preferred quietness. I think there are definitely some stories he could tell us judging by those eyes of his. He is very young - probably around 30 - although the immediate impression might be different. The beard went right down to his waist in one big dreadlock and he said that lots of people comment on it (I initially said that I really liked his image, particularly his remarkable beard!) . His name's Gaz. It could pass for an old old image perhaps if it wasn't for the piercings.

There may be a God of photography as it was weird how he just appeared like that when I was thinking of looking for someone to take a portrait (although perhaps if there was s/he would have given me better light). I've done a bit of jiggery pokery with it as it didn't look right in colour.
