THE SWAN

in Het Twiske, the recreation park, north of Amsterdam.
Early I took the train to Amsterdam, to meet our friend Cor.
He is a survivor and a wanderer, so he had recently bought two folding bicycles, one for himself and one for his guests. And today I was his guest and we cycled after drinking coffee and buying some bread and cheese, all day long.
Through Het Twiske and from there to Den Ilp and Ilpendam en Purmerland.
The weather was superb for this trip, warm, no wind and the scenery: polder and canals. Sheep in the meadows, herons along the water.
We saw the 'zorgboerderij' and visited an inmense parrot shop.
At the end of the afternoon as usual because it is near the ferry we ate at the thai restaurant and from there I went with train and bus home. A lovely, totally green day!

My haiku:

As far as you can see
The polder green and wide
The nests of the birds

And the proverb chosen by Mischa:

Those who never had a cushion don't miss it.

Now off to bed and sleep well and tomorrow first thing looking photos and commenting.
