Thursday 15 March 2012: shoddy and unfit for purpose
At about twenty to eight a Hotpoint/Indesit van drove past and parked a wee way up the road. It was almost certainly the bloke who was supposed to be coming to install the bits he'd had to order for our washing machine, but he insisted on waiting a wee way up the road until about ten past eight before driving a wee bit closer and announcing himself. He left with the machine successfully draining for the first time in three weeks just after nine but it took another hour and a half to be satisfied that it was again capable of washing a set of clothes, spinning and draining and then unlocking itself to allow their retrieval, unlike when it broke and refused to let us retrieve the locked-in half-wash, resulting in a new lock being one of the bits required to be ordered.
