Friday 16 March 2012: The Final Nail...

......in the coffin for Tamworth town centre.


I was born in Tamworth in the late 1960's and at that time it was a pretty market town with a wonderful rich history. Some years later the development of an out-of-town shopping centre and it's subsequent expansion has meant the end for small independent retailers and well known high-street names have relocated to the outskirts. Tamworth town centre is now characterless streets full of mobile phone, charity and discount shops. It is completely soul-less. Next week, the fast food restaurant shown in my photo is opening on a main road, just around the corner from my house and the one in the town centre is closing. Surely there is no hope for the town if even McDonalds don't want to be there!!!!!!!!
