Friday 16 March 2012: Play fair?
I'm in the Playfair Library at a very informative seminar on Scotland's Constitutional Future. I'm trying to keep my Devo Maxes and Devo Pluses distinct in my mind. My big question, regarding the citizenship (definition) consequences of possible independence hasn't been covered, however.
Chewing the fat last night with two very lively colleagues/friends over dinner and drinks. After sorting out our next joint research proposal, conversation turned to some parallels between the Scottish independence debate and the situation in Yugoslavia, which one colleague knows extremely well. An obsession with (constructed) language difference and fourteenth century battles? Are we talking about Yugoslavia or Scotland?
