Saturday 17 March 2012: Felting Day

I had a very fun day at Diva design Studio at Logie Steading (near Forres) experimenting and learning all about felting. It was therapeutic, creatively stimulating and very sociable We were encouraged by our two wonderful teachers to choose any project from their studio full of exciting ideas and get to work on copying it for ourselves. We were allowed to dip into their fabulous supplies of wool and mixed fibres in a delicious selection of colours.

I spent my time making a neck scarf complete with felted ring using an open web technique and then had time to make a felted purse complete with additional fibres for texture and design. We all went at our own pace but Kirsty and Christine stepped in to give us their expert advice and guidance just when we needed it. The surroundings are beautiful, the sun was shining and we all had a delicious lunch cooked for us in the neighbouring cafe.

I could not have found a better way to spend a Saturday doing something relaxing but at the same time also very inspiring.
