Saturday 17 March 2012: UPS AND DOWNS

I have a number of friends who are first or second generation Irish and so I usually send them a card on St Patrik's day. However, this year I was surprised to receive two myself as I can only claim a tiny bit of Irishness, within my mongrel ancestry, through a great great grandmother who married a Scot.

I imagine there are a lot of celebrations going on in Ireland today - but not with regard to the rugby!
