Sunday 18 March 2012: Strawberry cheesecake
Another quick blip tonight. We had my parents over for Sunday lunch for Mother's Day. It was a lovely afternoon, but this day always brings a mixture of emotions: immense love for my Mum, gratitude that my parents adopted me and relief that I still have both of them, but also great sadness that Ant's mum can no longer join us and guilt that Ant feels so sad on a day when I feel so lucky.
This is a quick shot of the last slice of the strawberry cheesecake I made yesterday. It doesn't look that elegant, as I messed up making the strawberry jam for the topping, which didn't set properly, but it tasted bloody lovely. So lovely, in fact, that my Dad, who only rarely eats puddings, had two portions.
