Monday 19 March 2012: Sheepish...
752/365: ... but no cute lambs. Shame! And just about the only photo I took today as I was busy the rest of the day and then had an almighty migraine this afternoon / evening which wrote off any other time for pictures.
Mondays are like that. And this was one of my gargantuan migraines which I get about once a month. I have them regularly the rest of the time, but I get killer ones every four weeks or so which make me throw up and today was that day. Not fun.
Most of the evening I heard pass me by from the darkness of the sitting room sofa. Ice pack on head. I did catch the following gem from the children while they were having the bath though. Nick was trying to stop them from using up my Coal Tar soap (I have psoriasis pretty badly and it helps with that - glamorous, I'm not!). Maddy got upset 'but I want to use it!!!' she wailed. 'But why?', said Nick. 'Because then I'll smell like grandma', she replied, 'I'm going to put some on my nose so I can smell her all the time.'
Grandmas, apparently smell like coal tar soap.
Fact.
Maddy then turned from being sweet into vile by getting overexcited, annoying Felix to the extent where he pushed her, she fell over and it all became everyone else's fault. 'No-one cares for meeeeeeeeee', she sobbed. In the end I peeled myself off the sofa and cuddled her. 'Please don't cry so loudly', I said as the sobs shattered my fragile head. Migraines make me such a rubbishy mummy! She calmed down in the end with a cuddle in bed - but plenty of tears before then. This is all a taste of the teen years, I feel sure.
Felix settled to sleep with a tiny bit of grumping 'you were talking about ME and I DON'T like it!!!' he said. We weren't. But he calmed too with a cuddle - and stroking his hair and face. Don't know why he loves that so much, but he does. It took only a couple minutes before he was snoring.
My head's still hurting so I'm off to bed.
PS Wonder who's going to soothe me to sleep?!
PPS Hot chocolate and a snuggly duvet will do!
