Wednesday 21 March 2012: City of Middelburg
Today I visited a friend. We had lunch in Middelburg and visited her son, who lives in a rebuild house. The view is from his living room.
The city of Middelburg dates back possibly to the late 8th century or early 9th century. In the 17th and 18th century, Middelburg played a important role and today you can still find the merchant and store houses. Most houses in the centre are renovated or rebuild in its historic and picturesque character.
Houses are build in blocks and behind the houses you can find wall-in gardens.
