Catherine's Journey

Gunnedah

We spent the day in Gunnedah for another Veterans Cricket match today. Tamworth lost today to Gunnedah by 30 runs. This Clock Tower was part of our view as spectators.

It is apparently a Clock Tower that is part of the Town Hall on the corner of Conadilly Street, Gunnedah and forms part of the Memorial Arch.

The inscription reads "Erected to perpetuate the memory of those citizens of Gunnedah and district who served with His Majesty's forces during 1914-18."

Dedicated on 11 August 1937, it looked as if it had recently undergone some kind of restoration.
