Raven Watch!

What an amazing morning to wake up to....warm breeze, sunny and blue skies.....coffee on the front steps without a coat....total bliss!!

Terry put out a few big chunks of stale bread onto the bird feeder....so i got my camera and had a very entertaining time, waiting patiently for the pair of ravens that reside here, to notice the bread and make their entrance! They danced around the feeder, in the trees, called out to each other and waited until the blue jays or the chicadees had moved off the feeder. they do this amazing dance on the ground in preparation for their very quick attack at the bird feeder.....so i have lots of images of empty bird feeder, bird feeder with a raven beak in the corner....but also 3-4 really wonderful shots of one or the other of the pair, in flight, coming in for a landing....what a great sight it is! And i really enjoyed trying to anticipate their behaviour! What tricky and fast birds they are!!

I'm posting a very early blip for me....cos the rest of this beautiful day will be spent cleaning, organizing and preparing for the gang to arrive tomorrow! at least doors and windows can be opened....ahhh spring at last!
