This is one of the training & testing environments set up for my current work project.
We're going to use scanning stations like these to scan some two million pieces of paper inside 4 hours. Heady stuff.
The scanners (Canon DR-7550Cs if you're interested) scan at 75 pages per minute. Full colour, A4, both sides, 300dpi. That's 5 sheets of A4 every four seconds. They remind me of the old Epson A3 dot matrix line printers: so fast you can't believe they're doing their job properly.
