Thursday 4 September 2008: Harvest
So this is what it's all about... a year of effort and worry and this is where it all pays off (hopefully).
Had a chat with the farmer as the combine was working. The wheat is still a bit damper than they would like, but there are high winds forecast so they need to get it in now. Otherwise the wind will blow the ripe heads off. They were finished harvest by the end of August last year - still quite a bit to go this year.
