Friday 23 March 2012: Off exploring

The flopsybunnies made the most of their long weekend together & headed out to Bradfield Woods today! It is a nature reserve just across the border which we haven't been to before so it was somewhere new to explore. The benefit of going on a Friday is that there were not many people about & all we could hear was birdsong. The wood is one of the few woods in the country where the traditional practice of coppicing has continued.

There were lots of wildlife about, we even saw a slow worm but it was too quick to be blipped, it slithered away back under its pile of grass that was baking in the sun. Mr F spotted a little mouse with a nut in his mouth.....he wasn't keen on being blipped either, I think he thought Mr F was after his nut!

Back home now with feet up & a brew, ready to settle down for the evening.
