Friday 5 September 2008: a juvenile Night Heron
we had blustery rain this morning from "Hanna", but it cleared up, with actual blue sky and sun late afternoon. Photo Journal and I were walking by a lake near my Mom's house, and the birds were enjoying the higher water and the break from the bad weather . (she blipped the swans) When we saw this little guy, we weren't sure what he was, but looked him up when we got home. We've seen the adult night herons several times in other places, but had never seen a young one.
