Sunday 18 March 2012: Valley of Fire

I've been in Las Vegas for a few days visiting family but this afternoon I had a break to do some photography at Valley of Fire State Park. I met up with another photographer that lives in Las Vegas. He gave me the tour of the Fire Wave. While there we ran into another photographer from the East Coast who we were familiar with from Flickr and Google+. It's such a small world!

Though the weather has been cold and rainy, it made for a great sunset this evening. I really enjoyed my time hanging out with two wonderful photogs. I loved photographing a different sort of landscape. I wish I had more time to explore the park, but it will have to be the next time I visit the area.
