Amour!

I had a stonking first day off. A lie in followed by a leisurely breakfast and then Mrs P, Sophie and I drove up to St George's Market (cupcakes shot below). Then lunch at The Other Place and a visit to Sophie's cousins. Sophie is learning about the Titanic in school at the moment, so on our way home we drove via Queens Island, the site of the Harland & Wolff shipyard where the ship was built. It's mostly waste ground now but the dry dock where her hull was fitted out is still there along with the pump house which pumped the water out of it. There are many later buildings, one of which is an also-ran below. We managed to get very close to the feet of the cranes that were built in the '60s to give Sophie an idea of the scale of the place too, also below. My Blip shot shows some of the graffiti in the area.

Looking forward to another day off tomorrow. The weather was amazing for March today and we're to have the same for the rest of the week!
