Pompidou View!!!

We took an afternoon outing to the Pompidou center. This is a merged image from two horizontal shots from the top level, with considerable work in CS5 using the transform/warp option on the top half (to level it out). You have to view it LARGE!

I had never been to the Pompidou with so much sun. It is constructed so that everything that is not inside (e.g. the galleries) is exposed to the exterior, and since that side of the building has a western exposure, there was sun and shadows everywhere.

We saw three exhibitions: 1) Matisse, "Pairs and Series", focussing on his tendency to repeat himself with variations; just wonderful. 2) Danser sa vie, on the relation of dance to modern art, in all its manifestations--truly superb, including videos essentially in every gallery, and much else. 3) Josef Albers--works on paper, showing how he worked out his experiments with color in the series Homage to the Square. I know Albers very well, and this was new for me--fun to see!
