Tartes

Oxford was very busy today because the Literary Festival is on.
A friend came up from London and we went out for lunch to a lovely little French restaurant. We resisted the temptation to have a desert at lunchtime which was fortunate as we stumbled across a Chocolate Market later in the day and managed to squeeze in some of the free samples on offer. These tartes at the market looked delicious.

In the evening I went to an aerial dance performance, Danse des Cariatides, from Compagnie Retouramont in the Castle courtyard. It was more of a son et lumiere with film projected up onto the castle walls and a background of what I think must be 'trance' music - but the aerial dance was an impressive, visually stunning acrobatic and very ambitious performance. This was followed by more food, out with friends: it might take me a week or so of serious sessions at the gym before I recover from all this indulgence.
