try to make a bad painting
our assignment for the day, was to try to make a bad painting.
It's not easy. Our teacher wanted us to become aware of what was going on in our minds as we were trying to make something bad. For me, I found I was much more aggressive with my strokes.
He said to just observe it. I found some of what I did was very cool. larger here.
Bill also said, "Art is one place where you can screw up and nobody gets hurt!"
I love Bill Buchman's ideas! It was really good for me to do this exercise, to stretch, to be free and try to fail instead of trying to be good. I will have more up on my art blog about this soon . . . thanks for visiting!
