Tuesday 27 March 2012: Monarch and cone flower

Lovely day today, but busy! Biking, preserving peaches, picking tomatoes, walk in the Botanic Gardens, gardening.

Lots of people in the gardens, and the autumn colours showing, though not really as much as I expected.

A rather tattered monarch butterfly feeding on a cone flower - the tongue pushed deep inside the flower to find the nectar.
