Friday 5 September 2008: Red Sky(e) at night
Shepherd's Delight
Or cyclist's fright
As the sky fills red
And builds my dread
-------------
A day off work, but mostly spent travelling. Train from Edinburgh to Aberdeen to meet my brother, with bikes put in the car to head north to Applecross, where we were staying the night before the Bealach Mor sportive.
A 90 mile bike ride isn't normally something to get me worried, but this route goes over the highest road pass in the country (starting at sea level) and the whole route climbs a total of 9,600 feet.
I wasn't looking forward to this at all!
