I decided that the best policy with a leech was to let it do its thing, trusting that it would drop off when satisfied. It did. Then I took my sandal off and found the others...

Funny thing is, I dislike slugs but I feel quite affectionate toward these little critters. They twitch their tails when they're nearly full, as if to say 'Oooooh, that was so gooood!'
