One Crowded Hour

By GlassRoad

one perfect day

Caught up with my mate Bob today at his new favourite coffee place, Toast.
On the river in Perth it is an eclectic mix of op shop cups and saucers, water in old Ricard bottles, primary coloured pots planted with tomatoes, chillies, basil and parsley and cushioned rattan recliners.
Toast spills out onto the walkway and crouches under million dollar appartments and a towering city skyline. Ursula the owner must be doing something right as the punters come by foot, bike and boat and wait for a table.

B and I go back a long way to geology days in Tasmania and catch up every month or so to see a film, browse a gallery, exchange stories, drink coffee and have lunch.
For lunch, we moseyed on up the river inlet and had fishcake soup with rice, pickles and kimchi at my favourite Korean restaurant Shilla. Oh yes and green tea panna cotta for pud.

Walking off lunch around the inlet, I watched a cormorant perched on a mooring pole hang out its wings to dry in the sun.
Thirty minutes later it was back in the hills, eucalypts and chattering parrots.
