Saturday 24 March 2012: Snakes in the garden

I missed a day:-(

Although I said I wouldn't be quite so obsessive once I got beyond a year it still bugs me when a day goes by and I don't nab something at least!

Yesterday Bob was at home again and we set off for Somerset from Leeds at 3.30pm stopping on the M42 for a truly disgusting and awful meal of KFC. eughh I can't believe I ate it! Although the traffic was good the Boys were both wailing about their tummies and I really did think this might have been a very bad idea.

Bob's wailing was by far the worse and by the time we arrived a lot of my sympathy had drained out (I'm so heartless!)

The worst was still to come however...... Having thought that they'd be fine given no one had actually puked since weds we were lulled in a false sense of security...... or maybe it was just the KFC

Anyway needless to say Bob was particularly unwell that night and he had to be hosed down twice!

But he did wake up feeling slightly better and the sun shone beautifully. We mooched around the place, let the chickens and turkey's out and fed them and then went and sat in the meadow in the sun, while the kids went on the climbing frame and bounced to their hearts content on the trampoline.

Later we went to the Tuckers arms for a pub lunch and the afternoon saw Bob and his Cousin Leonie, playing nicely on the beach while Ali made cakes out of wet sand. If only they had been 100% this would have been a perfect weekend.

Btw this is a snakes head fritillary, hence the title. My parents have planted them all over and they have taken brilliantly
